This week, Homes Plus are joining a nationwide campaign to help raise awareness of adult safeguarding and keep our communities safe.听
The annual awareness week takes place between 20 November 鈥� 24 November and is hosted by a leading UK support organisation for safeguarding adults and young people at risk.听
This year, the theme for the awareness week is 鈥楽afeguarding Yourself and Others鈥�. The campaign aims to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues and how you can prioritise the welfare and wellbeing of yourself and others.听
As a caring social landlord, the safety of our customers is our priority. We want to make sure that you know how to get help and advice if you鈥檙e worried about a possible safeguarding concern in your neighbourhood.听
What is safeguarding?听
Safeguarding means enabling people to live well and safely. Safety and wellbeing may be compromised where a person is subject to abuse or neglect or if they are unable to cope with their personal circumstances.听
Abuse and neglect can take a lot of different forms:听

Where can abuse and neglect take place?听
Abuse and neglect can occur anywhere; in the home or a public place, while the person is in hospital, a care home or attending a day centre.听

Are you worried about a friend or neighbour?听
It is often difficult to identify abuse or neglect but if you are in any doubt, always Speak Up.听听
It鈥檚 easy to talk through a potential safeguarding concern. Just contact the local Safeguarding Board and they will take it from there.听
